Model of the river Elbe in Wittenberge The physical model of the river Elbe around Wittenberge was used by the hydraulic laboratory to examine the implications of the transfer of the level Wittenberge from the port into the river Elbe. The problem of a relocated level is the consequential change in the statistics of the water level. The shifting slope ratios were observed with the aim to be able to use furthermore the existing data of the level Wittenberge. However, the gradient conditions can only be estimated insufficient by the available data, although they have a significant impact especially on the instationary hydrograph. This hydrograph is the basis for instructions for the weir management. Deviations from the level differences could lead to incorrect predictions of high-water levels.
